I am back♡ {with an up~date}

Hello again lovely friends, how are you all?

I cannot believe that it has already been over a month since I have published a post... I fully intended to be gone only a week or two, and yet, time simply ran away with me!

My only excuse is that I have been very busy the past few weeks and haven't had much time for any of my hobbies. However, I am hoping to be posting a little more regularly now♥

I thought that I would show a little of what I have been up to whilst taking a rest from the blogging world, as well as a couple of pictures...

I have been taking pictures of beautiful wildflowers that are growing all over the fields next door to our house...

My sister Rebekah and I have been enjoying frequent cycles to a small dam near us...it is so beautiful and peaceful there

My family and I spent an afternoon processing an abundant harvest of broccoli...

We have been enjoying beautiful bunches of roses...

We planted our seed potatoes, and they are almost ready to mound up a second time...everything is growing so fast!

As always, there are lots of tasks to be accomplished in the kitchen each day...I have finally perfected the art of lighting our wood stove, and it has become part of my morning routine to put it on, and then bake the bread needed for that day...we recently enjoyed delicious broccoli soup, made from our own, homegrown broccoli!

Yesterday I learnt how to use the lawnmower, and spent most of yesterday and today cutting the grass for my Dad. Although it is hard work, it is incredibly satisfying watching the grass becoming shorter and shorter!

My red onions have just swelled, and I am anticipating the day when I can harvest them...

My Mom, older sister, Nancy, Caleb and I took a trip into George last week, and enjoyed stopping at a Rose Farm to buy a rose bush and stretch our legs a little...Caleb especially enjoyed playing in the lavender field...such a cute little dude!

My Dad celebrated his birthday on the 25th of October. We had a quiet day at home, as Dad still had to work, but in the evening we made him a special meal, and a carrot cake...

It was also my little sister, Sofia's birthday in October. She celebrated with cupcakes...an excellent choice!

And this, is a new member of our family...Mog! He just showed up on our doorstep one night, and decided he would like to stay...he is such a sweet tempered little kitty♡

This is our market garden... we have potatoes, onions, leeks, carrots, squash and beetroot growing here so far, and more being planted! It is a lot of work keeping everything weeded and watered, but it is worth it

I am realising more and more how blessed I am to live here in the country, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and to have such a wonderful family...it is a gift, and one that I do not take for granted!

What have you been up to dear readers?
Until next week, Blessings, Gabrielle

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

  2. I've never had success with growing broccoli myself, but looks like yours grew amazingly well! We are just coming up soon on winter weather here, so most of my garden has died off for the year. It won't be too long, though, before I can start getting new seeds growing indoors in preparation for spring. :) I hope you've been having a wonderful week!

The garden is really impressive...what we always envisioned!! My garden is teeny, but I have emptied harvesting a few things...I used my own peas in a tomato bride last night...hmmm♡

  4. What a lovely post, Gabrielle. There is a delightful quality of purity, joy and decency in your Blog. It really does my heart good to know that there are still people like you and your family in this increasingly angry and fractured world.
