just a note to say...

Greetings dear friend, and how do you do?

This is just a little note to say, that I am taking a small break from blogging...just for a couple weeks♡
There are so many thoughts and ideas whirling through my head, however, whenever I try to put them into words, I hit a blank, and simply cannot write anything sensible, {{smiles}}

There is much that I would like to share with you all, many pictures and ideas, and it is my hope that after a week or two, I will be able to write a coherent and sensible blog post!

Until then, farewell...
Blessings~ Gabrielle♡

A Monday Musing...♡

"Happiness is the result of an attitude of mind. I believe we can build it out of small things."

Miss Read

How true this quote is...

Happiness is indeed a choice, and if we choose it, can be found in the little things, in the chores and tasks each day brings.

So often, we forget to look for happiness and joy in the small things...we think that we must wait for the big things to come along before we can truly be happy...but how false this is!

If our attitudes are correct, we can and we will find happiness hidden in each day♡

This week, dear friends, let us choose to be happy in the little things♡

May your week be a blessed one,
With love, Gabrielle♡

I am going to be a...♡

Such precious news I have to share with you this day, sweet friends, I am fairly bursting with excitement and happiness...

In just a few short months, I am going to be an Aunt to a wee little boy!♡

Yes, my dear sister Kelly is expecting...!

One baby Coetzee is on his way, and due to arrive in January 2022♡

Dear Kelly...oh, she looks so beautiful♡

Kelly is a very symphathetic person, loving, warm hearted and filled with the love of Christ... and I have no doubt that she is going to be a wonderful mamma♡

I just love examining Kelly's adorable bump every time I see her, and when she told me that she had been feeling some movement, I couldn't have been more excited or happier for her♡

Sweet sister, my heart rejoices for you...

I pray that the Lord will bless and sustain you in these last few months of your pregnancy♡

I cannot wait to meet, and be an Aunt to my precious little nephew♡

Are you an Aunt? If so, do you perhaps have any tips to share with me, on how to be the best Aunt in the world? {{smiles♡}}

My favourite tea quotes and paintings♥

Greetings dear friend,

In this post I am going to be sharing with you my favourite tea quotes and paintings♥

My sisters and I all enjoy drinking tea, and very rarely need an  excuse to don our best dresses, bake something scrummy, set the table prettily, and then sit together sipping tea from dainty tea cups.

What could be better than a girly tea~party?

So, without further ado, here are my favourite quotes about tea and some beautiful paintings♥

"Yes, that's it! Said the Hatter with a sigh, it's always tea time."
Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

"Would you like an adventure now, or shall we have our tea first?"
Peter Pan

"It was fortunate that tea was at hand, to produce a lull and provide refreshment,~ for they would have been hoarse and faint if they had gone on much longer."
Louisa May Alcott

"The very ritual of tea~making, warming the pot, making sure that the water is just boiling, inhaling the fragrant steam, arranging the tea~cosy to fit snugly around the precious container, all the preliminaries lead up to the exquisite pleasure of sipping the brew from thin porcelien, and helping oneself to hot buttered scones and strawberry jam, a slice of feather~light sponge cake or homemade shortbread."
Miss Read, Gossip From Thrush Green

"She stood by the tea table in a light coloured muslin, which had a great deal of pink about it. She looked as if she was not attending to the conversation, but solely busy with the tea~cups,  among which her ivory hands moved with pretty, noiseless daintiness."
Elizabeth Gaskell.

"But indeed, I would rather have nothing but tea."
Jane Austen, Mansfield Park

"You can never get a cup of tea big enough, or a book long enough to suit me."
C.S Lewis

"My dear, if you could give me a cup of tea to clear my muddle of a head, I should better understand your affairs."
Charles Dickens, Mrs Lirriper's Legacy

"Tea should be taken in solitude."
C.S Lewis

" 'A quarter past three,' she exclaimed, catching sight of the bedside clock. 'What a time to be drinking tea!' 'Anytime,' Harold told her, 'is time to be drinking tea!'

Do you enjoy drinking tea?

Introducing...the ducks♥

Greetings dear friends,
May I introduce to you, Sir Percy and Lady Marguerite Blakeney...my ducks

The Blakeney's are Muscovy ducks, excellent egg producers and they are the best breed of duck to raise for meat.
My plan is to start a small business selling duck eggs and meat to the people living here in the Langkloof
I am very excited, and am praying that the Lord will bless and grow this plan of mine!
I will keep you all updated on my progress, but for now, here are some pictures of my adorable ducks

Marguerite Blakeney...^

Sir Percy Blakeney...^

I thought it was just the sweetest thing when, this morning, as I opened up their coop, the male,
{{who then did not have a name,}} hooked his neck around the female's, pushed his body in front of hers, and protected her from what he thought was possible danger...such a gentleman. {{smiles}}

It was because of this little incident that my ducks received their names...

Have any of my readers heard of, or read , Baroness Orczy's 'Scarlet Pimpernel' books?
If so, you will remember that the main character, Sir Percy Blakeney ,was a complete gentleman and would gallantly risk his life for a lady any day.
My drake reminded me of Sir Percy, so I called him that and named the female Marguerite.
Marguerite was Sir Percy's wife in the books.

And so, my ducks were christened the Blakeney's♥

I am so thankful that the Lord created an opportunity for me to meet people who just so happened to breed ducks and had a male and female which they needed to rehome...

Blessings and love to you all,
Gabrielle♥
